Fantasifestivalen 09 was the ninth edition of the Swedish music competition Fantasifestivalen that selected Sweden's entry for the North Vision Song Contest 9. Helena Paparizou has emerged as the winner with her song "Set Your Heart on Me".

The format of the competition consisted of six shows: four semi-final rounds, a second chance round and a final. The 32 competing entries were divided into four semi-finals, with eight compositions in each. From each semifinal, the songs that earned first and second place qualified directly to the final, while the songs that place third and fourth proceeded to the Second Chance round. The bottom four songs in each semifinal were eliminated from the competition. An additional two entries qualified from the Second Chance round to the final, bringing the total number of competing entries in the final to 10. All six shows were hosted by Carina Berg.

Format[]

Fantasifestivalen 09, organised by Sveriges Television (SVT), was the ninth edition of the contest in which the competition took place in different cities across Sweden. The four semi-finals were held at the Scandinavium in Gothenburg (30 May 2014), the Skellefteå Kraft Arena in Skellefteå (8 June 2014), the Ejendals Arena in Leksand (12 June 2014) and the Malmö Arena in Malmö (16 June 2014). The Second Chance round took place at the Himmelstalundshallen in Norrköping (20 June 2014) while the final was held at the Friends Arena in Stockholm (25 June 2014). Thirty-two entries competed in the semi-finals, with eight entries taking part in each show. The top two entries from each semi-final advanced directly to the final, while the third and fourth placed entries advanced to the Second Chance round. The bottom four entries in each semi-final were eliminated. An additional two entries qualified to the final through duels from the Second Chance round, bringing the total number of competing entries in the final to ten.

The Final of Fantasifestivalen 09 took place on 25 June 2014 at the Friends Arena in Stockholm, hosted by Carina Berg. Ten songs competed — two qualifiers from each of the four preceding semi-finals and two qualifiers from the Second Chance round. A mix of televoting/SMS voting and international jury voting selected the winner.
