The North Vision Song Contest 37, often referred to as NVSC 37, was the thirty-seventh edition of the North Vision Song Contest. The contest will took place in Sweden, following Agnes' win in the 36th edition with the song "24 Hours".
Fourty nine countries participated in the contest. Czech Republic and Montenegro returned after their absences from the previous edition. Meanwhile, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Croatia and Italy decided to withdraw due to various reasons. Belarus had originally planned to participate, but their intended entry was disqualified.
The winner of 37th edition was Joy Crookes with "Feet Don't Fail Me Now" from the United Kingdom, gaining its second win after sixth edition. Lithuania was the runner-up, likewise their best result since the same edition. Serbia, Germany and Norway made up the rest of the top six, the latter being the only automatic qualifier to retain its position. Iceland and Albania - both being automatic qualifiers, finished in the bottom two.
Location
Sweden occupies the greater part of the Scandinavian Peninsula, which it shares with Norway. The land slopes gently from the high mountains along the Norwegian frontier eastward to the Baltic Sea.
The country has a 1,000-year-long continuous history as a sovereign state, but its territorial expanse changed often until 1809. Today it is a constitutional monarchy with a well-established parliamentary democracy that dates from 1917. Swedish society is ethnically and religiously very homogeneous, although recent immigration has created some social diversity. Historically, Sweden rose from backwardness and poverty into a highly developed postindustrial society and advanced welfare state with a standard of living and life expectancy that rank among the highest in the world.
Bidding phase
After Sweden accepted the hosting of the 37th edition, the country announced that eight cities with their venues had applied: Gothenburg, Karlstad, Linköping, Luleå, Partille, Rättvik, Visby, and Stockholm.
According to the delegation's leader, each of the shortlisted host towns has what it takes to accommodate artists and fans from all across Europe. The prerequisites of adequate arena capacity, hotel accommodations, and city framework were all taken into account. A final visit to each city was performed in order to determine the 37th edition's host city.

Returning artists
Aleesia returned to represent North Macedonia for a second time alongside Egzod, having previously represented the country in the eighteenth edition. Lea Kampmann, who represented the Faroe Islands in the twenty-fifth edition, also returned for a second time. Sasha Lopez, who competed for Moldova on their debut in the second edition and again in the thirty-fourth edition, participated for a third time, this time with Ester Peony. Adrien Gallo, another former participant from the thirty-fourth edition, returned to represent Algeria for a second time. AMI, who competed in the eighth edition alongside Grasu XXL but failed to qualify, represented Romania again, this time as a soloist. The New Victorians, Maltese representatives in the twenty-fourth edition, returned to compete with Lapes, whilst Annet X represented the Czech Republic with FVLCRVM after previously participating for the country alongside Ben Cristovao in the twenty-third edition.
